The Galleries provide larger, better‐quality images of the artworks discussed elsewhere so that you can look in detail at the object of your choice and come to your own conclusions. In some cases, especially with the more famous artists, a wider selection of their work is available in order to better illustrate the full breadth of their oeuvre. Great artworks should never be seen in isolation because their meaning is always linked to other works by the same artist, as well as artists before and since.
